CAREER DAY INC. AT ROOSEVELT

Roosevelt Poster 2024

April 12, 2024

Roosevelt High School successfully hosted a Career Day Inc. program for all 1,000 students, leaving a lasting impact on both students and faculty. This program provided a valuable platform for students to explore a diverse range of career paths and connect with professionals from various industries.

The program featured over 40 speakers representing prominent companies such as Island Federal Credit Union, National Grid, NVIDIA, and Collins Aerospace. It began with keynote presentations by two exceptional professionals: Dailisha Rodriguez, a motivational speaker, TEDx presenter, and Executive Director of Hey There Beautiful, and Vanessa Baird-Streeter, President and CEO of the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island. Their insights into leadership and community engagement set a powerful tone for the day’s activities.

Following the keynote addresses, students participated in small, focused classroom sessions based on their individual career interests. These sessions offered personalized insights and guidance, helping students gain a clearer understanding of potential career paths. The day also included a networking luncheon, where students had the opportunity to interact directly with industry experts, further enriching their experience.

To ensure the program was inclusive, special sessions conducted entirely in Spanish were offered, led by a team of bilingual professionals. These sessions ensured that all students, regardless of language proficiency, had equal opportunities to explore and engage with various career possibilities.
