A Valentine’s Day Full of Career Choice Awareness Love! Career Day Inc. returned to East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School for the second year in a row. On February 14th, 2024, over 40 speakers inspired more than 650 students from grades 7 to 12. This year’s event marked a wonderful return and acceptance.

Three keynotes led the day. Like last year, there were two keynotes in English, but this time, we added a special keynote in Spanish. Special thanks to Nazia DeFrank, CEO of Gourmet Ghee Co.; Josh York, Founder and CEO of GYMGUYZ; and Richard Tavarez, Community Relations Officer at Jovia Financial Credit Union.

After the keynotes, students moved to small group sessions. We offered sessions exclusively in Spanish for ENL (English as a New Language) students. The program concluded with a networking luncheon for 12th graders, allowing them to connect with speakers they hadn’t yet met and ask further questions.

We are immensely grateful for the overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers, administrators, and students. Their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the program were truly inspiring.
